Short Description

Hull Mtrl: Kevlar Composite PVC Hull Cnfg.: Catamaran Hull Designer: Fast Cats Boat Works Deck Mtrl: Composite Carbon fiber Disp: 170000 (77111.5 kg) Range: 400 Fuel Cap: 2000 g (7570 l) Flag: USA She is a very fast Surface Effect Passenger Vessel. She is capable of carrying up to 185 passengers and is USCG inspected to carry 150. Her next inspection is due in August 2006. She operates in a similar fashion to a hovercraft. The hulls have concave cavities run 80% of the hull which are pressurized with air from onboard lift fans driven electrically by the ships 175KW John Deere generators. These lift fans raise the vessel between 18 and 24 inches and effectively eliminate the vessels displacement. She is driven by four 1250HP Caterpillar 3412E diesel engines coupled to four ASD14 drives. There are two separate steering systems for back up. LOA 102' (31.1m) Beam 28' (8.5 m) Draft min 2' (0.6 m)/max 4' (1.2m) Speed 40 knots/47 knots Year mfg-2003 Mfg Fast Cats boat Works Type Motor Yacht Fast Ferry Top: With Flybridge Engines 4xCaterpillar 341 2E 1250 HP 1100hrs Staterooms 1 Heads 4 Captain Cabin No Classifications Designed to DNV HSC Class Type: USCG T NVIC 501 Advantages of Riding on a Cushion of Air • Because she rides on a cushion of air she is capable of very fast speeds in any load configuration. She is as efficient and fast whether with a full load of 150 passenger plus crew and staff as she is empty. The amount of lift can be adjusted depending on load. • Because she has little displacement in the SES mode she makes virtually NO WAKE. Six inches at 100 yards has been recorded. In many areas where a fast ferry service would be a viable operation it cannot be supported due to the wake damage caused by conventional high speed craft. has has never had a wake complaint while operating in a well populated river in South West Florida where she was running several daily trips to Gaming Casinos situated off shore. • In the SES mode she operates with a very reduced draft of about 18". This will greatly reduce the potential of damage from deadheads or other semi-submersed objects. • The normal operational speed for her is 40 knots with no wake. She will be at operational speed in areas where previously there have been wake concerns and her speed is well in excess of conventional vessels. This will greatly reduce commuter time. • The SES mode affords extraordinarily efficient operation. Fuel consumption is less than one third of that of conventional high speed vessels at similar speeds. At slower speeds (25 knots) fuel consumption is better then most slower boats also since the rpm's are considerably reduced. Furthermore, maintenance of the conventional Caterpillar 3412E engines and ZF gears are considerably cheaper than the exotic engines used in conventional high speed vessels. The SES concept in the her form offers many advantages for the commercial passenger ferry operator. The construction of the vessel is the leading edge of technology using the proper blend of materials Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, PVC foam core and Epoxy. The materials and processes used have already proved themselves in the aeronautical and automotive industries and when properly used in the Marine environment the strength and durability of the vessel becomes "Bullet Proof". She has proved herself as a reliable and cost effective operation with 100 plus mile runs to the keys or a top off the line shuttle boat to the off shore gaming industry. She is only now offered for sale due to transfer of gaming trade to the new Casinos on shore and the closure of offshore operations.

Hull and Deck

Upper Deck The upper deck has couch style seating and tables. There are six floor to ceiling windows allowing excellent views. There is a toilet situated aft on the port side. There is access to the open air aft deck which is sheltered from the wind by the structure of the upper deck lounge. The wheelhouse is located forward and accessed through a strengthened and lockable door. The upper deck lounge has a fully equipped bar and compact commercial galley. A high level of service can be offered from this facility. Lower Deck The lower deck is fitted with comfortable airline style seating with individual trays. There is storage for luggage in overhead luggage containers as found in aircraft as well as under the seats. A handicapped accessible toilet is fitted on the lower deck aft to starboard Two other toilets are situated on the lower deck. Remarks For the operator requiring a high speed passenger vessel, she will prove to be the best and most cost effective option. For the adventurous she could form the basis of an extraordinarily fast and cost effective coastal yacht capable of cruising the shallows of the Bahamas or the treacherous fast currents of the Pacific North West or alternatively sprint from Cannes to St Tropez for lunch and return before sunset. The Owner prefers to sell her outright but will also consider lease or lease purchase options from established operators. New construction is available with delivery in approximately 18 months.
