ISLAND DANCER is one of only two Gulfstar 63's to have been built just before the merger of Gulfstar with Viking Yachts. She was factory modified by the addition of 3,000 pounds of additional lead ballast fiberglassed to the bottom of the keel resulting in draft of 6' 10" in lieu of the standard 6' 6". ISLAND DANCER was damged in Hurricane Hugo (Oct.1989) suffering damage to the port side. Repairs were made during 1990-1991 including complete awlgrip paint in spring 1991.
